|September 20, 2004 -- I unloaded early this morning at San
Diego, California. Afterwards I headed to the T/A Truck Stop at Ontario,
California to get my trailer washed out, get fuel, take a shower, and eat.
I picked up another load this evening here at Carson, California.
It delivers at Los Lunas, New Mexico Wednesday afternoon. Los Lunas is a bit south of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I stopped late last night about 60 miles east of San Diego, and I was shocked at how hard the wind was blowing. With a wind that stiff it was actually rather cold.
It seems that Dan Rather and CBS have finally "apologized" for running the story regarding the bogus Bush documents. In the carefully-worded statement they did not even come close to admitting that the documents were bogus -- they simply said they couldn't substantiate them.
This story isn't even close to being over. The author of the documents MUST be revealed. Where did these documents come from? If CBS was really "duped" by someone then why aren't they angrily coming forward with the name of the person and/or organization that duped them? If I were duped in this fashion, I'd be very unhappy about it and I would spread the name of the person or organization that duped me far and wide. Something still stinks about this entire affair.
I must admit it's fun watching CBS go down in flames. It's been a long, long time in coming. At one time, people believed almost anything Dan Rather or any other network newscaster said. At this point, their credibility is shot and going lower with each passing moment.
I've decided to keep my beard shaved down to a goatee/moustache for the time being, so I had to buy a new electric razor since the battery in my old one appears dead.
